ArtNook: Roger Reutimann’s Perception #7

 In ArtNook, Culture, Design

This season, GA is excited to host a sculpture by artist Roger Reutimann in our studio’s ArtNook.

Reutimann used gypsum cement and glass fibers, with a base of cedar wood, to create the piece “Perception #7.”

Reutimann’s sculptures carry the imprints of our time. Forms have been distilled down to their base elements, leaving only pure geometric lines behind, oftentimes suggestive of the human form. He says, “My intention is taking reality by surprise and with it the observer. I am treating the human form as an object of sculpture, exaggerating and neglecting features to achieve what cannot be seen otherwise to the point where it becomes convincing and authentic. I’m not trying to solve the mystery, but to deepen it.”

To see this incredible piece in person, come by Gettliffe Architecture’s studio space at 3014 Bluff St., Ste 101, in Boulder.  And to see more of Reutimann’s work, visit his website.
