Built in the mid-90’s outside of Estes Park on steep terrain facing the peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park, our clients were ready for a total remodel of their home from the inside-out.
All three levels of the house were gutted, and most interior partitions were removed. New window openings were created to connect the surrounding environment, and various structural elements were modified or replaced to create improved spatial relationships. The two sets of stairs were totally redesigned to improve the flow of vertical circulation.
Working with our clients and Pocci Design Group, all of the living spaces were opened to abundant natural light, while creating fluid, ergonomic, three dimensional circulation throughout.
Although the footprint of the house didn’t increase, its spaciousness, openness and connection to the environment were vastly amplified.
