ArtNook: “The Giant Wave” by Denise Stoot

 In ArtNook, Design

TheGiantWave_DeniseStootThis season, the Gettliffe Architecture ArtNook has been transformed by local artist Denise Stoot‘s painting, “The Giant Wave.”

Stoot’s piece signifies the immensity of emotion and how its power can either envelop one like a seismic sea swell or propel that same person on the ride of a lifetime. The painting is reminiscent of the great wave pictured by the Japanese ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai who famously created the woodblock print of “The Great Wave Off Kanagawa.”
