Juicy Berry Farm Construction Photos
We wanted to share some photos from a current project in Boulder, Colorado: Juicy Berry Farm. Juicy Berry Farm is a 12-acre permaculture farm and residence.
The home is at a construction “hinge point”: Rough framing, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical is complete, and now critical layers of insulation are added to fill the walls’ cavities.
Increased insulation is a major component of green building. The first step is a closed cell spray foam, a process that provides a tight infiltration barrier. Next, blown cellulose fills the cavity, further increasing the homes ability to retain heat and cold. The combined R value of the materials is R-30 in the walls and R-56 in the ceilings, a major contributor to the home’s energy efficiency.
In the next phase, drywall and plaster will wrap the interior skeleton, revealing the living spaces of the home. We look forward to sharing more progress shots in the future.
